It’s no secret these days that Cleveland’s dining scene is beyond amazing. The city boasts both humble veteran eateries and a fleet of celebrity chefs. Those worlds collided last night at Cleveland Magazine’s Silver Spoon Awards Party — and my happy stomach is still thanking me for finally attending this 22nd annual event.
Held at the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum in University Circle, I ate my way through signature dishes from some of northeast Ohio’s top restaurants: Barrio tacos, duck Wellington from L’Albatros, Shinto sushi, lobster ravioli from Luca, Angelo’s pizza and so much more. I washed down eat bite with hefty wine pours from both international and Ohio wineries, all while antique airplanes hung overhead and vehicles from every era posed just feet away.
Meeting some of the talented, inspiring, amazing people behind Cleveland’s top restaurants is a treat in itself, but this event adds another layer by donating proceeds to support local Arthritis Foundation programs. A good night, indeed.
