It’s hard to look at these images and not think of jokes about walking toward the light at the end of the tunnel. Everything was so bright inside this architecturally beautiful walkway in downtown Cleveland. In reality, the gray skies above were pouring a pretty good rain down on these glass walls and skylights.

I picked up this crop top and skirt while shopping with my mom over Memorial Day weekend, and they came from two different stores. I love when I pick out an item in one place and can immediately find it’s perfect pair just a few storefronts down.

Pencil skirts are generally regarded as office attire, but this tighter option with a bold black-and-white print should probably be reserved for nights around town. The super-streamlined silhouette of a mid-length pencil skirt, one that falls just below the knee, is currently making its run as the ultimate street-chic style. It can be paired with a crop top, like this, but also looks amazing with a graphic T-shirt and a statement necklace.

The midi skirt begs for a strappy high heel, which helps elongate your legs and matches the proportion of the longer skirt. In the future, either a statement necklace or delicate pendant would both look great with this top. But since this look already features a flashy pattern, I opted to wear dangling earrings and a simple stack of bangles.

Look below to see where you can shop for these items.
