Sometimes we all care a little too much about what other people will think about us: our appearance, our actions and our reactions. But only you can decide the way you wish to live your life and the self you wish to project to the rest of the world.
There will always be people who don’t understand where you’re coming from, and why you act the way you do. A quote attributed to Friedrich Nietzsche (though an exact source is unclear) puts this in perspective beautifully: “And those who were seen dancing were though to be insane by those who could not hear the music.”
Ignore their criticisms. Or better yet, invite them to see the world from your perspective. Then maybe they can hear that wonderful music and choose to dance along.
This quote also reminds us to return the favor. Until you see the whole picture, refrain from passing judgment on others for expressing themselves. Simply put: Just be you and everything will fall in place.
