I’ve finally made the leap from blogger to magazine cover girl. Well, for one month, anyway.
I was so honored (though totally awkward) when asked if I could model for Ohio Magazine’s August cover story. And how could I say no to trading in a day at the desk with an afternoon sipping wine in a vineyard?
We headed out to South River Vineyard in Geneva, an area that features a plethora of wineries just a short drive away from each other. (Can you say Winery Crawl?) The winery is housed in a restored chapel, complete with stain glass windows and pews on the inside. But just outside is a greek-inspired pavilion held up by roman columns that overlooks the rolling acres of vines.
For the shoot, we opted for a coral maxi dress, a color that stood out beautifully against the green vineyard. We then spiced up the outfit with turquoise accents in the form of a wrap necklace and heavily beaded sandals. A maxi dress is a perfect choice for wine tasting and vineyard visits, because the style is casual and easy to manage, but maintains a dressy feel.
Enjoy some behind the scenes photos, and don’t forget to pick up an issue of Ohio Magazine to read about Ohio’s varied winemaking regions and other awesome things happening in the Buckeye State.
