Today, a little bit of glamour, history and Fifth Avenue makes its way to Cleveland. At 10 a.m., Tiffany & Co. opens the doors of its first Northern Ohio location at Eton Collection in Woodmere.

Since the fine jeweler opened 176 years ago, it has become synonymous with class and accompanying special moments. What girl would shy away from the iconic blue Tiffany’s box wrapped in a bow? Chances are there’s something waiting to glitter in the sun.

While Marilyn Monroe reminds us diamonds are a girl’s best friend, it is Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly who has always inspired me most. The 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany’s immortalized the store, set a new example for classic style and, most notably, gave rise to the Little Black Dress.

Holly Golightly: I don’t want to own anything until I find a place where me and things go together. I’m not sure where that is, but I know what it is like. It’s like Tiffany’s.

Paul Varjak: Tiffany’s? You mean the jewelry store.

Holly Golightly: That’s right. I’m just CRAZY about Tiffany’s!

While a dazzling engagement ring might be the ultimate surprise, Tiffany & Co. has much more to offer. Silver charm bracelets, fashion jewelry and leather wallets will also be available in the new location. And don’t forget the pearls, which Tiffany’s amply shared with the cast of The Great Gatsby (read here).

Make Daisy Buchanan proud—pick up a copy of the just-released film and swing by Tiffany & Co. to admire the selection. Or at least head over to Eton for breakfast.
