After a screen of fog dissolved on the runway in Paris, the first look of the Elie Saab Autumn/Winter 2013 Ready-to-Wear collection appeared. The first handful of looks to stride down the catwalk showcased day-wear ensembles. Business slacks and streamlined skirt suits were neatly tailored to the Elie Saab standards.
It is always, however, my favorite moment when the first sparkling gown appears. Elie Saab quickly became one of my favorite designers for his whimsical designs featuring scintillating beads, feminine lace and ethereal folds of fabric.
This season, Elie Saab’s evening wear is pleasing as ever. The peak-a-boo lace and sheer cut outs add to the collection’s sensuality, as does the use of midnight blue, chartreuse yellow, teal and violet hues.
