85th Academy Awards, best dressed, Christian Dior, Halle Berry, Jennifer Hudson, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Naomi Watts, Oscars, red carpet
The Oscars are always my most anticipated red carpet event of the year, and the 85th Academy Awards certainly met my expectations. Daniel Day Lewis won Best Actor for becoming Lincoln (like, literally), while the young and talented Jennifer Lawrence won her first Oscar for Best Actress in Silver Linings Playbook.
Speaking of Jennifer, she stuck to her Dior Haute Couture trend, once again wearing the designer. The white-color stayed clear of being too “bridal” and many adored the 74 carat strand of Chopard diamond beads that she wore draped down her back. A gorgeous choice for the leading lady– just not ideal for walking up stairs. “Was it on purpose? Absolutely!” Jennifer joked in her backstage press conference where her self-deprecating and fresh humor shined.
Dresses with classic trains were on trend, as seen on Amanda Seyfried, Sally Field and Charlize Theron, and actresses including Renée Zellweger and Catherine Zeta Jones stunned in golden gowns as gorgeous as the statue itself.
Selecting the Oscars best dressed is always tough. This year, the ladies of Hollywood did a lot of right and very little wrong. Oh, and as for the men, a bow tie sure goes a long way– even when paired with full grizzly facial hair.
