Walking to work one morning after a night of freezing rain, I was captivated by the beauty of an icy wonderland. Every pine needle, twig, branch and blade of grass was coated in a thick shield of ice.
Among the many things I’ve learned working for a college fashion magazine is you have to take what you can—and fast. Magazine cycles are quick and deadlines abrupt. The editors of Thread Magazine had been hoping for a snowy day to feature an “ice queen” photo shoot, so I immediately sent out a text. Within 24 hours the shoot was arranged, completed and photos sent on to editing.
Using the only technology I had on me at the time, my phone, I snapped a few photos of the beautiful scene. Check out the entire Ice Queen spread, flip through the rest of our February issue, and catch up with our featured bloggers, too!
